- Head Coach Brian Schmetzer makes nine changes to the lineup from Sounders FC's 5-2 win over Sporting Kansas City in league play, with Andrew Thomas, Jackson Ragen, Alex Roldan, Nouhou, Obed Vargas, Pedro de la Vega, Jesús Ferreira, Paul Rothrock and Osaze De Rosario coming into the side.
- The Sounders booked their spot in tonight's Leagues Cup Semifinal by defeating Club Puebla in penalties in the Quarterfinals following a scoreless draw in regulation.
- Should Seattle win against the Galaxy, they would face the winner of the Inter Miami/Orlando match in the Final at Lumen Field on August 31st. The losers of each Semifinal match would then face each other in the 3rd place match on Sunday.
