MATCH RECAP: Sounders FC Drops 2-1 Result to Portland on Saturday Night at Providence Park

PORTLAND, ORE. – Sounders FC (7-7-3, 24 points) fell 2-1 on the road to the Portland Timbers (7-8-3, 24 points) on Saturday evening at Providence Park. Kalani Kossa-Rienzi scored his second goal of the season for Seattle, but Portland’s Brandon Bye found the late winner as the Rave Green suffered their club-record sixth consecutive loss in MLS regular-season play. Brian Schmetzer’s side now begins Leagues Cup 2026 action this week, with a Phase One road match against Liga MX side Toluca FC on Wednesday, August 5 (7:00 p.m. PT / Apple TV, FS1, Univision, El Rey 1360 AM).
