Sounders FC stands for LGBTQ+ Equality. We are an ally and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. We amplify the voices of partners, educate ourselves and lead from within our sport to create inclusive spaces for all. Sounders FC works to make Washington State the most inclusive place for gender diverse youth to play soccer in the United States. We work with experts to create and share gender inclusive policies within youth sports and our workplaces.
June is Pride Month! Join us for the Seattle Pride Parade, support LGBTQ+ owned businesses with Intentionalist, enjoy matchday celebrations and continue learning with us as we strive to create inclusive spaces for all. Our work is supported by Starbucks — our Official Pride Partner — and our community experts and partners at Intentionalist, Trans Families and Athlete Ally.
Progress Pride Flag Raising
On June 2, we will be raising the Progress Pride Flag at Lumen Field with OL Reign, Starbucks and youth from Trans Families. The flag will fly during the teams’ doubleheader on June 3, and remain up for OL Reign’s Pride Match on June 10 and the Sounders FC Pride Match, presented by Starbucks, on June 24.
Support LGBTQ+ Owned Businesses
Seattle Sounders FC, Intentionalist and the Seattle professional sports community collaborating, once again, to encourage fans to #SpendLikeItMatters in support of the LGBTQ+ small businesses at the heart of our local community.
In the Receipt & Receive program, Intentionalist and Sounders FC, along with fellow local professional sports teams, are encouraging the community to buy from local LGBTQ+ owned small businesses this month, and all year long. As an incentive through the month of June, fans who upload receipts from qualifying LGBTQ+ owned businesses have the chance to win a variety of prizes from Seattle’s sports teams, including a pair of Sounders FC tickets and autographed gear.
Fans can support local LGBTQ+ owned businesses on matchdays throughout the month through featured food trucks and restaurants.

Celebrate on Matchday
We are excited to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with our annual Pride match, presented by Starbucks, on June 24! The night will be complete with LGBTQ+ owned businesses, presented by First & Goal Inc. and Levy and curated by Intentionalistplayers wearing Pride prematch tops, an auction of game-worn jerseys adorned with Pride numbers and more!
Seattle Pride Parade
Join us June 25 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm for the Seattle Pride Parade! Members of Sounders FC and other local professional sports teams will be marching together, and invite fans of all ages to attend and watch along the parade route. Our Seattle Sports Pride cohort will also be joined by student-athletes from across the country, convening in Seattle for the Athlete Ally Activism Summit! We are proud to be a part of this community-wide celebration advancing awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and promoting mutual respect and equal human rights for all.
