Following Saturday night's 2-1 win over LAFC, the Seattle Sounders have secured a spot in the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs.
The victory - coupled with favorable results across the league - clinched the No. 8 seed for Seattle. The Sounders will now host Real Salt Lake on Thurs., November 19 (7 p.m. PT; Watch on Apple TV) at Lumen Field in the Wild Card game. The winner of that match will face the No. 1 seed Vancouver Whitecaps in a Round One, Best-of-3 series.Â
Seattle raced out to an early lead 52 seconds into the match when Cristian Roldan picked off an errant pass deep in LAFC territory before picking out the run of Albert Rusnák for a close-range finish. Homegrown Player Sebastian Gomez doubled the lead in the 31st minute off a feed from Rusnák. LAFC pulled one back from a set piece in the 82nd minute as Eddie Segura headed home from inside the six-yard box.Â
