- Per Head Coach Brian Schmetzer, new signing Brad Smith is eligible to play tonight after being publicly announced earlier this week. The fullback is on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth, and now has both his International Transfer Certificate and P1 Visa in-hand, paving the way for his first start with Sounders FC.
- Aside from Smith’s inclusion, tonight’s starting XI is the same as last weekend’s match in Minnesota.
- Víctor Rodríguez returns to the bench for the first time since straining his right hamstring on July 21 vs. Vancouver.
- Clint Dempsey continues his bout with lower back pain and is unavailable tonight.
