The Seattle Sounders are hosting 2024/25 UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain on Monday, June 23 in the team's third and final match of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ group stage. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming competition and the Sounders’ group stage opponent.

FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP 2025TM : The FIFA Club World Cup is a global tournament that features 32 of the best clubs from around the world. This year's edition is taking place in North America, with Seattle serving as one of the 11 host cities. The final will be held on July 13 at MetLife Stadium.
CWC FORMAT: The Sounders are one of three Major League Soccer clubs participating in the newly formatted tournament. The 32 qualified teams from AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA are separated into eight groups of four where the first and second place clubs from each group advance to the knockout rounds.
MATCHDAY 1 & 2 RESULTS:
PSG: Won 4-0 against Atlético & lost 1-0 to Botafogo
WHAT’S AT STAKE: The Sounders' will finish group stage competition following the team's match against PSG. If the Sounders defeat PSG by at least three goals and Atlético Madrid loses to Botafogo, the team would move on to the knockout rounds. Seattle will be eliminated from the tournament with any other scenario.

FIFA Club World Cup Hub
The biggest tournament in the history of global club soccer is just around the corner. This month, Sounders FC will compete in the the FIFA Club World Cup right here in Seattle. Placed in Group B, the Rave Green will face UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain, Spanish giants Atlético de Madrid, and reigning South American champions Botafogo at Lumen Field during the group stage.
COMMUNITY FAN FEST: Fans can fully immerse themselves in Monday's matchday experience with the RAVE Meets World Community Fan Fest located in Occidental Park. RAVE Meets World will be transforming downtown into a can't-miss event for all soccer fans with giveaways, an open-play mini pitch, family-friendly games, food trucks, international beers on tap, live broadcasts of the game and musical performances.
FINISH OFF STRONG: The Sounders have shown they are able to go toe-to-toe with some of the best clubs from around the world following their matchups against Botafogo and Atlético, but have yet to secure a win or a tie in the international tournament. Regardless of where the team lies in the Group B standings, the goal remains the same to compete and fight for a victory on the world stage.
MIDFIELD CONTINUES TO SHINE: The Sounders' midfield of Albert Rusnák, Cristian Roldan and Obed Vargas has been key in the team's strong performances against these top-tier clubs. From Roldan's goal against Botafogo, Vargas' ability to make plays on and off the dribble, to Rusnák's strong second-half finish vs. Atlético, it is safe to say this trio has shown what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Achraf Hakimi Hakimi is arguably one of the best right backs in the world with his ability to impact both sides of the pitch. The Morocco international posted four goals and six assists in the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season. Additionally, he notched four goals and five assists in Champions League competition alone, supporting his team to their first-ever title in the UEFA sanctioned tournament.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia: Along with his four goals and three assists in just 14 Ligue 1 matches following his blockbuster transfer from Napoli, Kvaratskhelia has been extremely influential in PSG's latest Club World Cup performances. The winger supported PSG to a 4-0 victory over Atlético with two assists, and despite the loss against Botafogo, completed the most dribbles (4) in the match and won the most duels (10).
