ALL-TIME HISTORY: The Sounders are 7-7-5 all time against the Whitecaps, including a 3-4-1 mark at home.


RECENT MEETINGS: Vancouver has hosted Seattle twice this season, defeating the Sounders 2-1 on April 14 before drawing 1-1 on Aug. 23.


STREAK OVER: The Sounders fell 2-0 at Real Salt Lake last weekend, snapping their franchise-record 13-match unbeaten streak. The loss at Rio Tinto Stadium was Seattle’s first since June 17.

RETURN OF FREDY: Former Sounders forward Fredy Montero will make his first trip to CenturyLink Field as an opponent on Wednesday. The Sounders’ all-time leading goalscorer, Montero joined Vancouver on a season-long loan from China’s Tianjin TEDA and leads the Whitecaps with 13 goals this year.


REYNA RADAR: Whitecaps forward Yordy Reyna has been on a tear recently, with three goals and three assists in his last four matches. His five game-winning goals is tied for second in MLS.


CASCADIA CUP: The Sounders enter Wednesday in second place in the Cascadia Cup with six points from five matches and can leap Portland for first place with a win.

MISSING MORRIS: Sounders forward Jordan Morris will miss Wednesday’s match as he continues to recover from a strained hamstring he suffered against the LA Galaxy on Sept. 10.
