- Dating back to 1974 in the North American Soccer League, Seattle and Vancouver have met 158 times in all competitions, with the Rave Green leading the series 76-54-28.
- Sounders FC and Whitecaps FC already met earlier this year in a two-leg aggregate series in the Round of 16 in Concacaf Champions Cup. Seattle won both matches 3-0 and 2-1, respectively.
