SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC today unveiled its full schedule for the 2017 preseason presented by adidas, including training camps in Tucson and Charleston. Currently the club is scheduled to play five preseason matches, including two contests in Arizona and three fixtures as part of the 2017 Carolina Challenge Cup.
The club's first day of training to defend its 2016 MLS Cup championship is being held on Tuesday, January 24 at the club's Starfire Sports training facility in Tukwila. Specific training times and media access windows are being announced at a later date.
After less than a week of training at Starfire Sports, Brian Schmetzer’s squad heads down to Tucson, Arizona for 11 days of training from January 29 – February 8. While in Tucson, the Rave Green are set to play a Desert Friendly against the Portland Timbers (February 4) before scrimmaging the San Jose Earthquakes (February 7) at Kino Sports Complex. The club then returns to Seattle for a week before heading to the East Coast on Thursday, February 16 for another 11-day stint in Charleston, South Carolina. While in Charleston, Sounders FC is taking part in the 2017 Carolina Challenge Cup, with the club scheduled to play preseason matches against the Charleston Battery (February 18), Atlanta United (February 22) and Columbus Crew SC (February 25).
