Sounders FC leads MLS with five players among top 25 best-selling adidas jerseys in 2023 regular season

Major League Soccer today announced that Sounders FC leads all MLS clubs with five players among the top 25 best-selling adidas jerseys list for the 2023 regular season. This year, Jordan Morris leads the Rave Green’s group sitting at fifth place in the rankings, with Cristian Roldan (12th), Nico Lodeiro (17th), Raúl Ruidíaz (21st) and João Paulo (25th) following. The rankings are based on overall retails sales of adidas MLS jerseys on MLSstore.com.

This marks the seventh time in the last eight seasons (2016-2017, 2019-2023) that Sounders FC has held the highest number of players on the top-selling jersey list, and the fifth consecutive year that the club has led the league, having placed four players on the annual tally from 2019-2022 before placing five this year.

Morris marks his sixth appearance on the best-seller list, and has never ranked outside the top 10 in any year in which he has appeared, finishing fourth in 2016, 2017 and 2020, seventh in 2019 and ninth in 2022 before this year’s return to the top five. 

Roldan’s placement hails his seventh consecutive season ranking within the top 25. The midfielder finished 22nd in 2017 and 2018, 12th in 2019 and 2023, 24th in 2020, sixth in 2021 and 14th in 2022. 

Lodeiro has been a regular on the annual list, with six appearances since joining the club in the summer of 2016. In addition to his 17th place ranking in 2023, the Uruguayan and Rave Green team captain ranked 10th in 2017 and 2019, 15th in 2020, fifth in 2021 and 16th in 2022. 

Ruidíaz makes the list for his fourth consecutive season, having ranked eighth in 2020, second in 2021, and sixth in 2022.

Rounding out both Sounders FC’s and the league’s group is João Paulo at 25th. The popular player returned to action this season after suffering a season-ending knee injury during the Rave Green’s title-clinching 2022 Concacaf Champions League final leg at Lumen Field last May. This marks João Paulo’s first career appearance on the best-selling jersey list. 

Sounders FC returns home to the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field this Saturday to take on the New York Red Bulls (7:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, Sirius XM FC, El Rey 1360 AM), kicking off a three-match homestand ahead of the June international break.
