SEATTLE, WASH. â€“ Sounders FC today announced its match against the Portland Timbers in the Fourth Round of the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup has been moved to Tuesday, June 13 at Starfire Stadium. Last week, it was announced the contest would take place on Wednesday, June 14, but the two sides have agreed to move the contest up by one day in order to accommodate both team schedules. Kickoff remains slated for 7:30 p.m. PT. If Brian Schmetzer’s side advances past Portland, Seattle's Round of 16 opponent and location is set to be determined via a draw following the Fourth Round.

Tickets for the Open Cup match at Starfire Stadium start at $16 and are available through SoundersFC.com or by calling 877-MLS-GOAL. The presale for dual Season Ticket Members – supporters who have season tickets for both Sounders FC and S2 – is set for May 30, while the presale for Sounders FC Ticket Members opens on June 1. Tickets to the contest are open to the general public at 10:00 a.m. PT on June 2. To reserve the best seats and to receive complete ticketing information for the 2017 season, fans should visit SoundersFC.com/Tickets.

Last year, after defeating PDL side Kitsap Pumas 2-0 in the Fourth Round and advancing past Real Salt Lake in the Round of 16 via penalty-kick shootout, the Rave Green fell by a score of 4-2 to the LA Galaxy in the tournament’s Quarterfinal Round. Following last Saturday's 1-0 home win against Real Salt Lake, Seattle hosts Portland in the first matchup between two sides of 2017 on Saturday (12:00 p.m. PT / FOX, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360 AM).

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, which is the oldest continuous soccer competition in the United States and the third-longest globally, is open to all United States Soccer Federation (USSF) affiliated teams. Winner of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014, Sounders FC is tied with the Chicago Fire for the most titles in the tournament among MLS clubs. Maccabi Los Angeles and Bethlehem Steel FC hold the record with five wins apiece, but both clubs are no longer active. In 2011, Sounders FC became the first team since 1968 to win three-consecutive Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championships.
