Jordan Morris, Nicolás Lodeiro, Raúl Ruidíaz 2020-12-17

With the 2020 Major League Soccer season in the books, let’s take a look back at the top five Seattle Sounders assists this year. Note: These are listed in chronological order.

Joevin Jones to Will Bruin — July 27 vs. LAFC

Down a goal with 15 minutes remaining, Jones put a cross on a platter at the far post for Bruin, who scored his first goal since returning from a torn ACL the year before.

Nicolás Lodeiro to Jordan Morris — Aug. 30 vs. LAFC

Lodeiro dropped a perfectly weighted through ball for Morris to run onto and finish past an onrushing Kenneth Vermeer.

Will Bruin to João Paulo to Jordan Morris — Aug. 30 vs. LAFC

Less than a minute after Morris finished Lodeiro’s feed, Morris found the back of the net again after a great combination play between Bruin and João Paulo, who delivered a brilliant cross to Morris at the far post.

Nicolás Lodeiro dummy to Jordan Morris to Raúl Ruidíaz — Sept. 10 vs. San Jose Earthquakes

Lodeiro smartly dummied a pass knowing Morris was behind him, allowing Morris to turn and play an incisive, inch-perfect diagonal through ball onto the feet of RuidĂaz. The Peruvian coolly slotted home the Sounders’ fifth goal of the first half in an eventual record-breaking 7-1 rout.

Nicolás Lodeiro to Jordan Morris — Sept. 27 vs. LA Galaxy

Lodeiro showed off both his vision and his class with a seeing-eye through ball to Morris on the far end of the field. Morris did the rest to finish 1-v-1 on the goalkeeper and double the Sounders’ lead.
