Top Plays of 2017 | No. 6: Osvaldo Alonso completes three-goal comeback against the New England Revolution

With the 2017 season in the books, SoundersFC.com is taking a look back at the top 10 plays of the year. We’ll release the full list over 10 days with the final play being announced on Dec. 31. Take a look at the full list as it’s released.
The Sounders will kick off 2018 with a Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League series against El Salvador’s Santa Tecla on Feb. 22 before opening the MLS campaign on March 4 against LAFC.
NOTE: These plays were voted on by a multiple SoundersFC.com staffers and compiled on a point system. Check out the full schedule HERE.

With the Seattle Sounders trailing 3-0 late to the New England Revolution, it seemed like the Rave Green would drop their first home game of 2017. But three goals in 13 minutes capped by an Osvaldo Alonso goal would salvage one of the most impressive results of the year.

Seattle had all the momentum and the Revs on their heels when Nicolás Lodeiro whipped in a cross from the right side of the 18-yard-box. His pass was flicked on by a Revolution defender and into the path of Alonso, who headed in from four yards out to equalize in the 88th minute.
