Career Summary

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2018 (Seattle): McCrary made 15 appearances, nine of them starts, in his first season in Seattle. The dynamic right back played a total of 890 minutes during the MLS regular season. His most prolific stretch spanned from June 30 to July 25, when he started five of Seattle’s six matches. In addition to his action with the First Team, Seattle’s right back made four starts for Sounders FC 2 during the USL regular season. In the 2018 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, he played 15 minutes during Leg Two of the Western Conference Semifinals.

2017 (Toronto FC II): McCrary signed with Toronto FC II for the 2017 season, starting 19 of 27 appearances for the Reds’ USL side.

2016 (New England): After being selected 10th overall in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft by the New England Revolution, McCrary appeared in two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches for the club. He also appeared in one game with the Revs’ USL affiliate Rochester Rhinos.

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

Appeared in 76 matches for the University of North Carolina from 2011-2015 (he redshirted in 2014 due to injury), recording nine career assists. He was a NSCAA Third Team All-South Region selection in 2015 after recording a career-high five assists while starting all 20 appearances for the Tar Heels. In 2011, McCrary was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team and a College Soccer News Freshman All-American.

YOUTH EXPERIENCE

McCrary was a standout at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia. He was a rated a five-star recruit by Top Drawer Soccer and named the 2011 Gatorade Player of the Year in Georgia. He has played for the U-15, U-17 and U-18 U.S. National Teams.

PERSONAL

McCrary was an Exercise and Sports Science Major at North Carolina. His brother Josh played soccer collegiately at the University of Kentucky.
