PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2019 (Seattle): Muse served as the primary goalkeeper for Sounders FC’s USL side, Tacoma Defiance. He started 21 of his 22 games played and recorded 1,935 minutes. Muse posted a .669 save percentage in his first professional season, making 97 total saves while posting three shutouts.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

A mainstay on the U.S. youth national team circuit, Muse has represented the Stars and Stripes at the U-18 and U-20 levels. In 2017, Muse earned several caps as the young Yanks participated in the Slovakia Cup and Lisbon International Tournament. He is a current member of the U-20 men’s national team pool, securing qualification for the 2019 U-20 FIFA World Cup in Poland by winning the 2018 CONCACAF Championship.

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

One of the top goalkeepers in the NCAA, Muse hit the ground running at Indiana University. He won the starting job in 2017 during preseason camp and started all 25 matches as a true freshman. He posted one of the best individual campaigns in college soccer history, leading the nation in goals-against average (0.26), shutouts (18) and save percentage (90.3 percent). Muse’s 18 shutouts that year matched matched the NCAA record for clean sheets in a single campaign. The Sounders Academy alum propelled the Hoosiers to the NCAA National Championship match by saving three penalty kicks in a shootout with Michigan State in the Elite Eight. As a sophomore, he followed his impressive debut campaign with 15 shutouts, earning First Team All-Big Ten and Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year honors. The Academy alum was named a First Team All-American by United Soccer Coaches, Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News for his stellar campaign in goal. In 49 career starts for the Hoosiers, Muse conceded just 19 goals while recording 112 saves, accumulating a 38-4-7 record.

YOUTH EXPERIENCE

Muse joined Sounders Academy in 2015 from Derby City Rovers in Louisville, Ky. Throughout his two years with the Rave Green in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, he received plenty of accolades, including 2015-16 Western Conference U-15/16 Goalkeeper of the Year, 2016-17 Western Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and 2016-17 Western Conference Player of the Year. During the 2016-17 season, Muse helped guide Sounders FC to third place at the USSDA Playoffs, which was the club’s best-ever finish at the time. As one of the top prospects in the youth ranks, Muse trained regularly with both of the club’s professional sides and joined the First Team for its first MLS preseason camp in Tucson, Ariz.
