Career Summary

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2020 (FC Cincinnati): Richey started nine of his 10 appearances for FC Cincinnati, recording two shutouts.

2019 (FC Cincinnati): In FC Cincinnati’s inaugural MLS season, Richey started all 19 of his appearances for the expansion side, recording two shutouts.

2018 (FC Cincinnati): Richey joined FC Cincinnati for its final USL season in 2018, starting all 18 of his appearances across all competitions.

2017 (Vancouver Whitecaps FC): Splitting time between Whitecaps FC’s MLS and USL sides, Richey started all 17 of his USL appearances in 2017. He also made his MLS regular season debut for Vancouver in a 2-0 loss at Toronto (March 18), in addition starting to both of Whitecaps FC’s Canadian Championship matches.

2016 (Vancouver Whitecaps FC): Richey started all 17 of his appearances for Whitecaps FC II in USL play. He also made two starts for the First Team in Concacaf Champions League play, a 1-0 win over Trinidadian side Central FC (August 3) and a 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City (September 14).

2015 (Vancouver Whitecaps FC): After being selected in the third round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Richey spent the season with the club’s USL side Whitecaps FC II, starting all 12 of his appearances.  

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Richey has represented the United States at U-20 and U-17 levels, participating the in the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Nigeria.

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

Playing for the University of Washington in his hometown of Seattle, Richey appeared in 71 games, registering 30 shutouts. He earned First Team All-Pac-12 honors in 2012 before suffering a broken leg the following season, then led the Huskies to a Sweet 16 appearances in the NCAA Tournament as a redshirt senior.

YOUTH EXPERIENCE

Richey played youth soccer for Crossfire Academy before moving to attend IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
