PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 

2015 (S2): Lyon made 24 starts as the primary goalkeeper for S2. Lyon’s 80 saves ranked seventh in USL, while adding four shutouts. He made a season-high 10 saves against Real Monarchs SLC (June 25). He earned back-to-back USL Team of the Week honors in Week 14 and Week 15.

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

As a senior in 2014, Lyon was a co-recipient of the Big East Goalkeeper of the Year Award and was an All-Big East First Team selection after recording nine clean sheets in 18 appearances with a 0.74 goals against average. Lyon set a program record with eight straight shutouts from September 5 through October 11 and was named Big East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week on October 6. The Marquette captain was also named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America First Team. In his junior campaign, Lyon was a co-recipient of the Big East Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year Award and earned Big East All-First Team honors. He also was named the Big East Men’s Scholar Athlete of the Year and received the 2013-14 Big East Conference Scholar Excellence Award. Lyon started all 21 of his appearances, posting 10 shutouts and finishing the season with a 0.91 goals against average. During his sophomore campaign, Lyon started 21 of 21 games with 10 clean sheets and a 0.74 goals against average, leading the Golden Eagles to a 16-4-1 record. Lyon made three appearances for Marquette in his freshman season, making his first career collegiate start against Wright State. He finished his career as the school’s all-time leader in goals against average (0.83 GAA).

YOUTH EXPERIENCE

Lyon was an All-State honoree at St. Charles East High School. He was named to the 2009 All-Area Team as a senior by The Daily Herald. A product of the Chicago Fire Academy, he was named to the Academy Select Team in 2008 and 2009.

Lyon is the son of Joseph and Janet Lyon. He majored in biomedical science.
