COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
A four-year starter at Duke University, Fjortoft finished his collegiate career recording 74 starts – starting every game from 2014 through 2017 – with seven goals and two assists. As a defender, Fjortoft was voted the Blue Devils’ Most Valuable Defensive Player in both 2017 and 2016, while earning co-Defensive MVP honors as a sophomore. He also earned United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-South Region and Third Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors following the 2017 season.
YOUTH EXPERIENCE
Fjortoft played with Norwegian club Baerum SK prior to attending Duke, where he played with the U19 side from 2011 through 2013, winning the Danish Festival Cup with the club in 2009 and the Norwegian Championship (Adidas Cup) in 2007 and 2008.
PERSONAL
Son of Jan Age and Marianne Garbog Fjortoft. His father is a former professional soccer player, appearing in both the English Premier League and Bundesliga, as well as the top flights of Austria and Norway, in addition to earning 71 caps with Norway.
