The defender was key to Seattle's shutout of Chivas USA over the weekend.
The Sounders FC have their first three-time representative on the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week and it’s first-year defender Djimi Traore after a 2-0 win over Chivas USA on Saturday.
Traore finished the match with a team-high eight interceptions while completing 83.7-percent of his passes in the shutout victory.
Traore is joined by two Puget Sound natives on a Team of the Week that features five players from two Eastern Conference teams. The goalkeeper is Gig Harbor native Tally Hall (Houston Dynamo); defenders Mateo Ferrari (Montrel Impact, YP Lee (Vancouver Whitecaps) and Jose Goncalves (New England Revolution); midfielders Javier Morales (Real Salt Lake), Felipe Martins (Montreal Impact) and Federal Way native Kelyn Rowe (New England Revolution); and forwards Diego Fagundez (New England Revolution), Blas Perez (FC Dallas) and Atiba Harris (Colorado Rapids).
The Sounders will meet the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday at 7:30 pm PT at CenturyLink Field with live television coverage on NBC Sports.
