Seattle's left back adapted to his role in the midfield and this week was the eighth Sounders FC player named to the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week.
Marc Burch has been working to make the transition to the left midfield position after playing left back for the last eight seasons. On Sunday, his performance was good enough to earn him a spot on the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week, making him the eighth Sounders FC player to be selected.
Burch was pivotal in the Seattle attack as they topped Chivas USA 2-1 and extended their home unbeaten streak to eight matches, equaling a club record for home dominance.
Burch, who was listed as a defender on the team, is joined by goalkeeper Jon Busch (San Jose Earthquakes); defenders Drew Moor (Colorado Rapids) and Johnny Leveron (Vancouver Whitecaps FC); midfielders Shea Salinas (San Jose Earthquakes), Dillon Powers (Colorado Rapids), Hendry Thomas (Colorado Rapids), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo) and Bobby Convey (Toronto FC); and forwards Alvaro Saborio (Real Salt Lake) and Fabian Espindola (New York Red Bulls).
Midfielder Mauro Rosales was also named honorable mention.
