Social Timeline: S2 paints Portland Rave Green with 2-0 road win

Sounders FC 2 players might have thought they were experiencing some form of crazy déjà vu as they left Merlo Field Monday night, though it was surely no dream when goals from both Sam Garza and Pablo Rossi on either side of the break had the team in a very familiar position: walking away from the pitch with a 2-0 shutout in Portland.

Not only did Monday's match see S2's keep its second shutout victory in a row, but the Rave Green jumped into a first-place tie in the USL Western Conference with defending USL champ Sacramento Republic FC (things are pretty cozy at the top). The road contest also marked the S2 debut of centerback Ashani Fairclough, who joined the club via trade on June 15. It was S2's fourth time topping T2 across all competitions, and the second time the Rave Green blanked its Cascadia Rival on its home turf.

Two shutout victories and six points in five days might have earned the team some well-deserved time off, but don't fret, I am right here with you to hand-deliver a hefty portion of this week's S2 Social Timeline, so buckle up, because you never know what to expect in the Rose City.

Already?! You betcha, for the second time in five days, it was time to get down to business.

Well hello gentlemen, it's a pleasure to see you tonight.

It's pronounced fair-KLUFF, in case you were wondering.

Hope you brought your sunscreen.

You gotta love that homegrown-to-homegrown connection from the beginning. #TheFuture

Sam was FEELING it last night. That dude likes to score, he will probably do that tonight.

Aaron had himself quite the night as well. He sure tried a few shots with good ol' righty.

Hey, haven't I seen that somewhere before?

Oh yeah, that's right. What a beauty!

OH MY GAAAARZAAA! His third of the year comes right before half and it's sweeeet.

That's halftime. Think they were pretty happy in the locker room?

Hey Ashani! You're looking pretty fresh in that Olympic White!

All night, the Kov was looking for goal. That guy had a good game.

Picked his pocket in a dangerous area. I think he is going to fit in just fine here in Seattle.

Oh hey, Duncan. What are you-

"In the jungle, the might jungle, the Lyon earns clean sheets!" (I really can't get enough of this song)

In the middle of Portland!

That would about do it for us after another dominating performance from the boys in White! Thanks for following a long, and we will see you Saturday as we travel to Vancouver to prove why America is awesome on the Fourth of July!
