CONCACAF Champions League

Tickets for Sounders FC's 2015-2016 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage matches now on sale to general public

CenturyLink Field 150707

SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC today announced that tickets for the club’s 2015-2016 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) Group Stage home matches are now available to the general public. Prices start at $14 per ticket for the pair of fixtures at CenturyLink Field, which are available for purchase via Ticketmaster.com for home dates on August 19 vs. CD Olimpia and September 23 vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

More SCCL Information and tickets

Tickets to both home SCCL matches are included in the 2015 Sounders FC season ticket package, while partial season ticket packages have access to one of the two. Sea of Green package-holders have access to the August 19 match against Honduran side CD Olimpia, while Sky of Blue package-holders automatically receive entry to the September 23 clash with Cascadia rival Vancouver.

Sounders FC Season Ticket Members, Half-Season Ticket Members and Sounders FC Priority List Members received priority access in advance of the general public on-sale. More information about becoming a Season Ticket Member and the Sounders FC Priority List can be found here.

The Rave Green qualified for the 2015-2016 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League after an impressive 2014 season in which it captured the Supporters' Shield and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Seattle previously advanced out of the SCCL Group Stage in both the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 tournaments. In 2012-2013, Sounders FC became the first MLS team to oust a Mexican side from the tournament when it advanced past Tigres UANL in the Quarterfinal Round.

The 2015-2016 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League consists of eight groups of three teams each. Each team plays the other two teams in its group twice – once home and once away – with each group winner advancing to the Knockout Stage.

This marks the first time Sounders FC faces a fellow MLS side, as well as its first Canadian opponent in the tournament. The club has previously faced Honduran side C.D. Marathon in both 2010-2011 and 2012-2013 SCCL Group Stage play.

The Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League is the region's premier club football competition. It was introduced for the 2008-2009 season, replacing the Champions Cup, which had decided the Confederation's best team since 1962.

Featuring 24 squads from each of CONCACAF's three sub-regions – North America, Central America and the Caribbean – the SCCL is played in two stages: the Group Stage and Championship Stage. Berths are allocated by country or, in the case of the Caribbean, through a separate qualifying competition.

After defeating league-leading D.C. United on July 3, Sounders FC returns to action on Saturday, July 11 with a road matchup against the Chicago Fire at Toyota Stadium (5:30 p.m. PT / JOEtv, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360 AM).
