Seattle Sounders react to Nelson Valdez's game-winning goal on Twitter

Of course it was Nelson Valdez.


As the minutes stacked up at CenturyLink Field on Thursday evening, it looked as though the Western Conference Knockout Round match would be heading to extra time. After subbing on for Erik Friberg in the second half, Valdez fought desperately to find the back of the net to seal a trip to the conference semifinals. With just minutes left, that goal finally came.


Valdez netted his second career postseason goal in the 1-0 win over Sporting Kansas City, securing a two leg series against FC Dallas for the second straight year. After the match, Valdez's teammates took to Twitter to congratulate the forward.
