Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei commemorates "The Save" with a tattoo

The left hand that helped win the Seattle Sounders their first MLS Cup and earned them their newly minted star-crowned logo now has its very own star.

Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei unveiled his new tattoo on Twitter on Tuesday evening following the Sounders' Championship March and Rally. His new ink sits in between his thumb and index finger.

Frei made "The Save" in the second period of extra time against Toronto FC in the 2016 MLS Cup to keep the match scoreless and send it to penalty kicks. Frei saved one PK, good for eight total saves on the evening, and was named the championship match's Most Valuable Player.
