MLSSoccer.com on Monday named Seattle Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan to its Week 3 Team of the Week bench for his efforts in the Sounders’ 3-1 win over the New York Red Bulls on Sunday.
Roldan started at his usual position of defensive midfield before filling in at right back for the final 25 minutes of the match after Oniel Fisher came off with an injury. Head coach Brian Schmetzer called Roldan’s effort “absolutely fantastic” and one of his “signature performances.”
