The Seattle Sounders have made a big jump in Week 3 of media installments’ MLS Power Rankings after their convincing 3-1 win over the New York Red Bulls last Sunday.
The Sounders are No. 4 on MLSSoccer.com (No. 6 last week), No. 4 on ESPN.com (No. 10) and No. 11 on SI.com (No. 12).
“The Sounders showed the swagger of a champion vs. RBNY,” MLSSoccer.com said. “Don’t bet on them fading any time soon.”
The Sounders will host Liga MX side Club Necaxa in a friendly on Saturday (7 p.m. PT; JOEtv, ROOT Sports outside Seattle, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS) before returning to MLS action on Friday, March 31, when they welcome 2017 expansion side Atlanta United to CenturyLink Field.
