Sounders FC 2 finalizes roster for season-opener with two signings

SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC 2 today announced that it is has signed forward David Olsen and midfielder Francisco Narbon to S2 contracts. Olsen, who shined in two seasons with the Sounders FC Academy’s U-18 side, enters his first year as a professional, while Narbon joins S2 after playing for USL side FC Cincinnati in 2016. Both players are eligible to play in Sunday’s season-opening contest against Sacramento Republic FC at Starfire Stadium (2:00 p.m. PT / Live-Streamed on SoundersFC.com).


“We are very excited to have David and Francisco sign contracts with S2,” Sounders FC Director of Player Personnel Kurt Schmid said. “We’ve been following David’s development for a long time now and Francisco has proven he can compete at this level. With our 2017 season getting underway on Sunday, we could not be more excited to work with this current group.”


Olsen, 21, comes to S2 after spending two seasons at Seattle University. In 2015, the Seattle native led Division I with 16 goals, then added four more scoring tallies last fall. Olsen spent his freshman campaign at San Diego State, where he recorded seven goals. Olsen, who attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Auburn, is a Sounders FC Academy product. In two seasons with the U-18 side, Olsen tallied 35 goals.


Narbon, 22, enters his second season in USL after making four appearances with FC Cincinnati in 2016. The midfielder also spent one season at James Madison University, where he made 16 appearances for the Dukes. The Panama City, Panama native earned his first cap for Panama in a 3-0 loss to Peru on August 6, 2014. He has two caps for Los Canaleros.


Including these two signings, S2 has 12 players under contract. The Rave Green also announced the Sounders FC Academy players who are eligible to play in USL this season:
