MLSsoccer.com breaks down Lodeiro vs Almiron battle

Friday night's marquee matchup between Seattle and Atlanta United (7 p.m. PT; FS1, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey1360AM | TICKETS) features two of the top South American playmaking imports to MLS over the last 12 months as Uruguayan Nicolas Lodeiro battles Paraguayan playmaker Miguel Almiron

Through 22 regular season and playoff games in MLS, Lodeiro has nine goals and nine assists en route to winning 2016 Newcomer of the Year and MLS Cup while Almiron has dazzled in his limited time with two goals and two assists through three MLS games including a pair of goals in a 6-1 win over Minnesota United.

MLSsoccer.com took a closer look at the matchup through the always-interesting Audi Player Index ahead of Friday's match. Almiron played 135 minutes for Paraguay in a pair of World Cup Qualifiers against Ecuador and Brazil while Lodeiro was with the Uruguay squad but did not feature in matches against Brazil and Peru.
