The Seattle Sounders will take on the San Jose Earthquakes at Avaya Stadium on Saturday (7:30 p.m. PT; Q13 FOX, Univision, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM) for their first 2017 match against their Western Conference foes.
In a 1-1 draw at Avaya last season, Nicolas Lodeiro recorded an 80th-minute equalizer off a seeing-eye free kick that tucked into the back of David Bingham’s goal untouched. The goal was the third in seven matches for Lodeiro since joining the club in late July and earned the Sounders a huge road point as they continued their unlikely quest for the playoffs.
The Sounders are 1-5-3 all time in San Jose since joining MLS in 2009.
