Referee Allen Chapman to be head official for Seattle Sounders’ home match against the New England Revolution

Referee Allen Chapman will be the head official for the Seattle Sounders’ home match against the New England Revolution on Saturday (7 p.m. PT; Q13 FOX, Univision, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS), the Professional Referee Organization announced on Tuesday. He will be joined by assistants Apolinar Mariscal and Andrew Bigelow and fourth official Dave Gantar.


Chapman has been a referee since 2012. He officiated the 2016 NASL championship and was the fourth official during the Sounders’ 2016 MLS Cup Final win.


Chapman has issued 24 total yellow cards in five matches this year, and he has not sent anyone off. He was the center referee for one Sounders match last season, Seattle’s 3-1 win over Orlando City SC on Aug. 7. He issued seven yellow cards, four to the Sounders and three to Orlando.
