Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey leveled the match against the Chicago Fire at one apiece in the 28th minute on Saturday night with a bending left-footed effort that dipped over goalkeeper Matt Lampson.
Dempsey’s strike canceled out Nemanja Nikolic’s penalty kick, one that was retaken after Stefan Frei saved David Accam’s initial effort.
The goal was Dempsey’s fourth this season.
