The Seattle Sounders have dropped slightly in the media’s Week 14 MLS Power Rankings after their 3-0 midweek loss at Columbus Crew SC and 1-0 home win over the Houston Dynamo.
The Sounders are No. 12 on MLSSoccer.com (No. 11 last week), No. 15 on ESPN.com (No. 15) and No. 15 on SI.com (No. 14).
“It was a mixed bag of a week for Seattle, which fell 3–0 at Columbus on Wednesday but recovered to win 1–0 at home against Houston on Sunday,” said SI.com. “That makes it three wins in their last four games for the Sounders, enough to push the team in the last playoff spot out West. Could another late-season surge be on the cards for the defending champions?”
The Sounders have a break in MLS play due to the international break, but they will host the Portland Timbers on Tuesday, June 13, at 7:30 p.m. PT in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup at Starfire Sports.
