Team celebrate fans

Wow, what a night.

Behind Clint Dempsey's first career postseason brace, the Seattle Sounders advanced to the Western Conference Championship with a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps. Both goals in the series came in the second of Thursday's second leg, sending CenturyLink Field into a frenzy. While the stadium was absolutely rocking in the cold and damp autumn air, the social media universe emoted a similar response. Let's take a look:

The historical nature of this matchup was evident in the first leg, with emotions running high.

The Nouhou train is derailed in the area, which causes a bit of controversy. After Video Review, it is ruled not a penalty.

Scoreless through 45 minutes.

After 135 minutes of scoreless soccer, Dempsey breaks the deadlock.

This guy...

.... well played.

And that's it!

But really, please don't apologize! You're doing great.
