In the latest edition of "Winging it with Zakuani" host Steve Zakuani looks ahead to Saturday's "must-win" match vs. Chicago Fire, talks about how winger Víctor Rodríguez adds quality to the Sounders' attack and speaks with former Sounder and 2012 Goal of the Year winner Patrick Ianni.
At the 1:18 mark, Zakuani recaps the Sounders' latest home match, a 2-1 win over D.C. United on June 9, and analyzes how the Spanish winger Rodríguez adds value to the Sounders' attacking third after making his first start of 2018 against D.C. United. Ianni then joins the podcast at the 11:36 mark and discusses his legendary 2012 goal vs. Sporting Kansas City.
"About eight weeks before that goal I reached over to grab a water bottle at practice, at Starfire, and something happened to my back," recalled Ianni. "It put me out for 6-8 weeks and after that I come back and somehow my body is able to jump into the air and kick a ball and land on my back and I'm totally fine. I don't think the adrenaline has worn off from it six years later."
Zakuani closes the podcast with his Big Three Things at the 27:53 mark.
