Seattle Sounders at Atlanta United starting lineup: Clint Dempsey out injured; Raúl Ruidíaz available on bench

The Seattle Sounders are taking on Atlanta United on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (11 a.m. PT; Fox, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). Here is the Delta Starting XI:

- New Designated Player Raúl Ruidíaz is available on the bench today after the transfer window opened on July 10. Midfielder Gustav Svensson, who had been gone on World Cup duty and helped lead Sweden to the quarterfinals, is also available on the bench as a substitute.

- Forward Clint Dempsey (groin tightness) and Román Torres (left ankle sprain) are each unavailable for Sunday’s match. Dempsey’s injury occurred prior to the team’s departure late this week and is not expected to be long term. Torres’ injury occurred while with Panama at the World Cup in Russia.

- Defender Kelvin Leerdam returns to the 18-man roster after recovering from a right hamstring strain he suffered on June 9 vs. D.C. United. Captain Osvaldo Alonso is also back in on the matchday roster after missing the Colorado Rapids and New England Revolution matches last week.
