Seattle Sounders midfielder Nicolás Lodeirostarted, played 61 minutes and recorded an assist for Uruguay on Friday in a 3-0 win over Uzbekistan at the China Cup in Nanning, China.
Gastón Pereiro opened the scoring for Uruguay in the 5th minute off a feed from Lodeiro. Cristhian Stuani struck in the 23rd and 81st minutes to seal the win.
Lodeiro, who turned 30 on Thursday, earned his 55th cap for La Celeste, who will take on Thailand on Monday, March 25, in the China Cup Final.
Lodeiro has a goal and three assists in three matches so far this season for the Sounders. Seattle has a bye this weekend, but returns to MLS action on Saturday, March 30, at the Vancouver Whitecaps (7 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
