Major League Soccer has nominated Seattle Sounders midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro for Week 6 Goal of the Week for his ridiculous fadeaway volley in a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday.

Cristian Roldan crossed a ball to the far post where Lodeiro struck a brilliant left-footed volley past Nick Rimando while falling over. The goal was Lodeiro’s second of the season.


The Sounders visit the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday (6 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM) before returning home to take on Toronto FC on Saturday (1 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, El Rey 1360 AM | TICKETS).
