Defender Kelvin Leerdam named to MLS Team of the Week bench for Week 13

Major League Soccer on Monday named Seattle Sounders defender Kelvin Leerdam to the Week 13 Team of the Week bench for his performance in a 3-2 loss against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday.


Trailing 2-0 in the second half, Seattle got on the board in the 63rd minute when Leerdam set up Raúl Ruidíaz with a nifty spin move and cross for the Peruvian striker to finish off and cut the lead before Russell struck for his hat trick just minutes later. Leerdam then headed home a corner kick in the 71st minute to pull the Sounders within 3-2.


The Sounders continue the road swing with a visit to FC Dallas on Saturday (5 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
