- Head Coach Brian Schmetzer makes several changes to the lineup that faced Chicago Fire FC on opening day. Three starters from that match – Shane O’Neill, Jordy Delem and Danny Leyva – are replaced by Yeimar Gómez Andrade, Gustav Svensson and Jordan Morris.
- Gómez Andrade, who joined the club in the offseason, makes his first MLS start for the Sounders.
- Delem (hamstring strain), Handwalla Bwana (quad strain), Nicolás Lodeiro (hamstring tendinitis) and Will Bruin (ACL tear) are unavailable for selection.
