Sylvester Middle School is home to one of the 52 RAVE Foundation mini pitches built across Washington state, creating safe and accessible spaces where kids and communities can play, connect and thrive through soccer. Located in Burien, the pitch reflects RAVE’s belief that the power of the game extends far beyond the field, bringing communities together to invest in the next generation.
That spirit is exemplified by Duane Nakamura. As President of the Seattle Sounders FC Alliance Council, Duane has long served as a trusted bridge between the club and its supporters. When fans learned of RAVE’s ambitious goal to build 52 fields by 2026, he helped turn their passion into action. Under his leadership, Sounders supporters came together to fully fund a RAVE mini pitch, demonstrating the extraordinary impact a united fanbase can have beyond the stadium. His work stands as a powerful reminder that soccer communities are strongest when they invest in the next generation.
