Rooted in History

The Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse carries on the rich sporting and Pacific Northwest history of the land. From 1933 to 1992, the site was occupied by the Longacres Racetrack, the capital of thoroughbred horse racing in western Washington.

In 1995, the land was converted into an office park for aerospace giant Boeing, serving as the company’s headquarters for the Commercial Airplanes division for 16 years. Pilots from around the world used it as a central hub for flight simulation courses, and airline technicians received maintenance training on location. With the pristine natural beauty of the campus, including a large pond nestled into the land, it served as the perfect snapshot of the Pacific Northwest.

Foundation for the Future

2024 marks the 50th anniversary for the Seattle Sounders organization. As the club celebrates its first five decades, the club's new training facility helps lay the foundation for the next 50 years. It is the physical embodiment of the club’s promise to fans of continuing to raise the bar and setting the standard for excellence on and off the field. Our new world-class training facility reaffirms the club’s values, as its design and impact reflects the commitment to our Social Justice Framework.

The club's new home strengthens our roots in the community we have served since 1974. With that firm rooting in place, the organization can continue to grow, evolve, win championships, and reflect the values of our region.
