Food Trucks (North Plaza)
Mark McConnell grew up eating his mom’s cooking at family gatherings and powwows on the Blackfeet Rez in Browning, Montana. After moving to Seattle, McConnell and his partner, Cecilia Rikard, decided to follow their passion and open Seattle’s first Native food truck, serving delicious traditional Blackfeet fry bread, tacos, and other creations inspired by Mark’s family recipes.
In 2004, Philadelphia native Guy Thomas joined Charles and Minerva Humphrie who founded and operated The Original Philly’s in 1995. The casual spot, old-school restaurant offers Seattle a taste of authentic Philly cheesesteaks, “pizza” chicken, cold cut hoagies, and even a vegetarian cheesesteak.
Pop-up Restaurants (PNW Marketplace outside Section 113)
For Tijuana street food in Seattle, look no further than T’Juana Tacos food truck and food stand. Chef and owner Monica Rodriguez serves elevated, traditional Mexican street food inspired by her mother using organic and locally-grown ingredients. Monica has always been inspired by her parents’ true passion and dedication to family gatherings and traditional cooking. Monica’s mother, Juana, was born and raised in the countryside of Durango, Mexico. Just like her mother used to do when Monica was a child, everything at T’Juana Tacos is made fresh, from grinding corn for tortillas to braising halal beef over 8 hours to make delicious, juicy Birria.
Building on the success of his Belltown restaurant, in 2023 Trey Lamont opened Jerk Shack Kitchen in the Central District neighborhood where he grew up. The menu includes fry bake sandwiches, Caribbean plates, and a variety of sides like Cuban Black Beans, Sweet Plantains, and Tostones. Come for lunch or dinner and enjoy the bold flavors of Jerk Shack in a fast-casual setting.
