Following the team’s 2-2 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps at Lumen Field on Saturday night, Seattle Sounders midfielder Albert Rusnák was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday bench for Matchday 37.
This is Rusnák's seventh time being selected for the league’s weekly honors this season after tallying a goal and an assist for the Rave Green over the span of 90 seconds.
In the 54th minute, Rusnák distributed a perfectly placed corner kick into the box for defender Jackson Ragen to head into the back of the net. One minute later, Rusnák secured a goal for himself when a deflected ball off an initial cross from winger Jesús Ferreira found the midfielder on the back post. From there, he rocketed the ball one-time past Whitecaps keeper Yohei Takaoka to give the Sounders their first and only lead of the night.
With his two goal contributions on Saturday, Rusnák now has 11 goals and 9 assists in 2025 MLS Regular Season competition.
The Sounders return to action on Saturday when they host the Portland Timbers at Lumen Field (7:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV | TICKETS).
