Major League Soccer on Monday named Jordan Morris and Léo Chú to the Matchday 5 Team of the Matchday following their explosive attacking performances in the club's 4-1 road win over Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.

The pair's inclusion on the list of top performers from across the league this weekend should come as no surprise. With Raúl Ruidíaz away on international duty and Héber still recovering from injury, Morris moved from his preferred spot on the wing into the No. 9 role. The Mercer Island native responded by scoring four goals and setting a club record for most goals scored in a single game. Morris is now firmly in the lead for the MLS Golden Boot as the league's top scorer with seven goals from the first five matches.

Morris' move to striker opened up a spot on the left wing for Chú to earn his first start of the campaign. The 22-year-old Brazilian stepped up by contributing an assist on each of Morris' goals and breaking the club record for most assists in a single match.

Propelled by the historic performances of Morris and Chú, the Sounders managed to pick up three points in a hostile environment despite falling 1-0 behind inside the first five minutes of the match. With the win, Seattle sits second in the Western Conference with 10 points from five games and a +8 goal differential.

The Sounders return to action on Saturday as they visit the LA Galaxy (4:30 p.m. PT; FOX, Watch for free on the Apple TV app) at Dignity Health Sport's Park in a Western Conference clash.
