Dallas’ Record: The Hoops had their best regular season since 2011, finishing fourth in the Western Conference with 54 points (16-12-6).


Head-to-Head: Sounders FC is 2-1-1 against Dallas this year, including last week’s 1-1 draw on the road in the first leg of this series. In the only meeting between the two teams at CenturyLink Field this year, Kenny Cooper scored in the 88th minute to give Seattle a 2-1 victory.


All-Time Series: Seattle is 8-3-5 all-time against FC Dallas. At home, the Sounders are 5-1-1 against the Hoops and have won each of the last four matchups at CenturyLink Field. This is the first time Dallas and Seattle have met in the MLS Cup Playoffs.

Key Player: In six games against the Sounders in the past two years, Dallas midfielder Michel has four goals and a pair of assists. Three of those goals were from the penalty spot, where the Brazilian has converted all seven of his attempts this year.


Notes: Sounders FC is seeking its second trip to the Western Conference Championship in three years. Due to the away-goals rule, Seattle would advance with a win or a scoreless draw on Monday. … The winner of this series will face the LA Galaxy, which defeated Real Salt Lake 5-0 on Sunday to advance to the Conference Championship. … After last Sunday’s match, Osvaldo Alonso is tied for the most postseason goals in Sounders FC history with three. … Dallas midfielder Mauro Diaz is available after serving the one-game suspension he was given by the MLS Disciplinary Committee. … Dallas lost four of its final five road matches in the regular season.
