SUCCESS APLENTY: Monterrey is one of the most successful clubs in Concacaf history and have won the Concacaf Champions League five times in its current format, three more than any other team. Rayados also have five domestic Liga MX titles to their name.

FIREPOWER ARRIVING: Monterrey made a huge splash in the transfer market this week when it acquired Spanish attacking midfielder Sergio Canales from Real Betis. The 32-year-old has scored once in 11 caps for the Spanish national team and has made over 300 appearances in La Liga for the likes of Real Madrid, Valencia, Real Sociedad and Betis, where he spent the last five years.

FIREPOWER ALREADY THERE: Monterrey’s attack is led by one of the most dangerous forwards in the region in Rogelio Funes Mori. The 32-year-old has 126 goals in 254 appearances for Rayados since joining from Portuguese giants Benfica in 2015. The Argentina-born Funes Mori earned one cap for Argentina in 2012 before changing his allegiance to Mexico in 2021. He has six goals in 17 caps for El Tri.
