Six milestones you might have missed from Saturday's road win over LA Galaxy

Jordan Morris scored, Léo Chú assisted and the Seattle Sounders won on the road. Rinse and repeat for the second straight weekend.

Saturday’s 2-1 win at the LA Galaxy sent the Sounders into second place in the Western Conference in a night filled with milestones galore. Here are some of the most notable landmarks.

322 Sounders starts for Stefan Frei in all competitions

Frei started his 322nd match for Seattle in all competitions on Saturday, tying former Sounders MLS original Ozzie Alonso for most in the club’s MLS history. The longtime Sounders goalkeeper already owns the club’s MLS starts record with 271 in league play.

50 regular-season goals for Jordan Morris

Morris became the third MLS Homegrown to reach 50 career regular-season goals, joining Gyasi Zardes and Diego Fagúndez. Morris leads the early MLS Golden Boot race with eight goals through his opening six matches, already surpassing his total from last season and quickly approaching his career-high of 12 he set in 2016. His eight career goals against the Galaxy are his most against any team, and he’s tied for the most goals (six) at Dignity Health Sports Park for a visiting player.

60 goals in all competitions for Jordan Morris

Morris also hit the 60-goal mark in all competitions on Saturday, with six in the postseason and four in Concacaf Champions League rounding out his total. The Mercer Island, Wash., native is third all-time in club history behind only current teammates Fredy Montero and Raúl Ruidíaz.

6 straight goal contributions for Léo Chú

In his first 37 MLS matches since joining from Brazil’s Grêmio in 2021, Chú had one goal and four assists. He has one goal and five assists in his last two contests and six in a row.

100 wins for Brian Schmetzer

Sounders Head Coach Brian Schmetzer became the fastest manager in MLS history to reach 100 non-shootout wins (MLS did away with match-deciding penalty shootouts in 1999). It took the Seattle native just 212 matches to reach the century mark, three games faster than MLS coaching giants Bruce Arena and Bob Bradley.

10 straight matches unbeaten against the Galaxy

The Sounders have dominated their series with the Galaxy, going 10 consecutive matches without a loss (6-0-4) dating back to 2018. Seattle is the first team in MLS history to go 10 straight unbeaten against LA.
