The Seattle Sounders are visiting St. Louis CITY SC on Saturday in the final match of the 2023 MLS regular season. Here is everything you need to know:

WHEN AND WHERE: Kickoff is at 6 p.m. PT at CITYPARK in St. Louis, Mo.

WHERE TO WATCH: The match will be available to watch for free on Apple TV.

WHERE TO LISTEN: The match will air in English on iHeartRadio and Spanish on El Rey 1360AM

2023 RECORDS AND STANDINGS: Sounders: 13-9-11 (50 points, 3rd West), St. Louis: 17-11-5 (56 points, 1st West)

FORM GUIDE (all competitions, most recent first): Seattle: DWDWD, St. Louis: LWWDD

PREVIOUS MEETING: The Sounders defeated CITY 3-0 at Lumen Field on April 8 in the inaugural matchup between the two clubs. Josh Atencio and Raúl Ruidíaz each scored in the second half before a late Jake Nerwinski own goal sealed three points for Seattle.

PLAYOFF SEEDING: Both the Sounders and CITY have booked their tickets to the postseason. St. Louis has already clinched the No. 1 seed, while Seattle is trying to secure a top four spot and earn home field advantage in the first round. The Sounders will clinch a top four seed with a win or draw on Saturday.

TOUGH TO BEAT: Seattle is playing its most resilient soccer to end the season, a promising sign as the playoffs near. The Sounders are unbeaten in their last eight matches (3-0-5) and haven’t tasted defeat since Aug. 20.

RECORD-BREAKING OPPORTUNITY: The Sounders have a chance to set a club record for defensive fortitude this weekend. They have conceded just 32 times this season, and a clean sheet on Saturday would break the club’s best mark of 33, which they accomplished in 2012.

SWISS SHOT STOPPERS: The Sounders’ Stefan Frei and St. Louis’ Roman Bürki have been two of the best goalkeepers in MLS this year. Frei leads the league in clean sheets with 13, while Bürki is first in goals prevented.

EXPANSION SUCCESS: St. Louis CITY has been a massive success in its first year in MLS. The club became the first expansion franchise to earn the top seed in its conference in its debut season, the first to win 17 matches and the fourth club to break the 60-goal mark. A win on Saturday would set the record for most points by an expansion team in league history.

GOALS GALORE: CITY lead the Western Conference with 62 goals scored this season and have had 16 different goalscorers. Only Columbus Crew SC (65) and Atlanta United (64) have found the back of the net more.

FAMILIAR FACE: Former Sounders forward Sam Adeniran has been one St. Louis’ many bright spots this season. The 25-year-old is third on the team in goals with eight in just under 1,000 minutes.
