PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2015 (Toronto FC / Puebla): In his lone season with Toronto FC, Gomez made seven appearances and scored one goal. His strike against the New York Red Bulls came in one of his two starts. Gomez came to Toronto from Puebla, where he played on loan. In his final season in Mexico, Gomez scored one goal in 13 appearances.

2014-2015 (Tigres UANL): While on loan with Tigres, Gomez scored one goal in 15 appearances.

2013-2014 (Club Tijuana): As a forward for Club Tijuana, Gomez logged 10 starts in 21 appearances, scoring one goal.

2012-2013 (Santos Laguna): In his second season with Santos Laguna, Gomez made a career-high 33 appearances, in which he tallied eight goals. With the club’s Clausura victory, he became the first player to win both the MLS Cup and Primera Division championship.

2011-2012 (Estudiantes Tecos / Santos Laguna): Gomez began the campaign with Estudiantes Tecos, where he scored seven goals in 17 matches. He then finished the season with Santos Laguna, scoring five goals in 12 matches.

2010-2011 (Pachuca): With his second Mexican club, Pachuca, Gomez scored five goals in 29 appearances.

2009-2010 (Kansas City Wizards / Puebla): In his first season in Liga MX at Puebla, Gomez netted 10 goals in 15 matches. He joined the Mexican side after wrapping-up the 2009 MLS season with Kansas City. He tied for the league lead in goals, which marked the first time an American player led a foreign league in scoring. In his lone full campaign with the Wizards, Gomez made 20 starts in 26 appearances.

2008 (Colorado Rapids / Kansas City Wizards): Gomez began the season with the Colorado Rapids, where he scored two goals and recorded one assist in 17 matches. He finished the campaign in Kansas City, adding one goal and two assists in eight matches.

2007 (Colorado Rapids): In his only full season with the Rapids, Gomez scored four goals and tallied two assists in 17 league contests before tearing his ACL in September.

2006 (LA Galaxy): Gomez scored five goals and added three assists in 30 matches for the Galaxy, which ended up being his final season in Southern California.

2005 (LA Galaxy): In 2005, Gomez had his most prolific MLS offensive season, scoring a career-high 11 goals and adding two assists in 22 matches. He scored the game-winning goal in the 2005 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final and was a member of the side that won MLS Cup. He recorded 18 goals across all competitions.

2004 (San Diego Sockers): While on loan with San Diego, Gomez scored five goals in 10 appearances.

2003 (Seattle Sounders / LA Galaxy): In his first stint in Seattle, Gomez played 17 matches for the USL Sounders, recording one goal. Gomez then made his MLS debut in five minutes of action on October 11 at Kansas City for the LA Galaxy.

2002 (San Diego Gauchos): In his first professional season, Gomez scored 17 goals in 17 appearances for the San Diego Gauchos of the PDL.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Gomez made 24 appearances for the United States Men’s National Team from 2007-2013. He was a member of the United States’ 2010 FIFA World Cup roster, where he played in three of the four matches in South Africa for the Stars and Stripes. Gomez has six international goals to his game, having most recently represented the United States Men’s National Team at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

PERSONAL

The oldest of five children, Gomez was born in Oxnard, California but grew up in Las Vegas. His brother, Ulysses, is an MMA fighter.
