The young defender has been let go by the Sounders.

RENTON, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC has waived defender Ashani Fairclough, the team announced today.


Fairclough, 20, was signed by Sounders FC on March 22, 2013. He logged 214 minutes in four appearances in the MLS Reserve League. Before joining Sounders FC, Fairclough made 73 appearances for the University of South Florida from 2009-12, totaling one goal and 10 assists. He was the captain of the 2007-08 Jamaican U-17 National Team and was the youngest player on the U-20 team. Fairclough originally joined Sounders FC in the 2013 preseason.
